I love magic and this dough is literally magic, but the best thing of all is that you know how the magic trick was done and it is so easy to replicate in your own kitchen jungle!

Perhaps some may say that this is not the most traditional way of making a pizza dough, however it certainly works for me and there is nothing like the aroma of a freshly made pizza coming out the oven!

I enjoy taking a recipe and manipulating it into lots of other little recipes and this is where the magic dough comes in. I have used this dough for making an assortment of flavoured flat-breads, pizza, dough balls, stuffed calzones and even stuffed flat-breads!

The beauty of this recipe is that it fits into every single cuisine I have made. For example, with Indian food – Cumin and coriander flat breads or perhaps a Mediterranean inspired lamb mince stuffed flat bread (such as a Turkish ‘Pide’) or even an American inspired deep-dish pizza with all the trimmings! The possibilities are endless.

So now for the magician to reveal the 2 secret ingredients; Yoghurt and Self Raising Flour!

And perhaps a little help of 1 teaspoon of Baking Powder and a little flavour enhancer called Salt, but that’s a given if you like flavour so it doesn’t really count.

So the one thing that makes this super easy to make is the fact that there is an equal ratio of yoghurt to flour, so memorising the recipe shouldn’t really be an issue.

Secondly… and this is the most important tip of the whole recipe; the one thing that makes it easy to eat is the fact that you shouldn’t use low fat yoghurt; it’s all about the full-fat stuff! (Note - You can really opt for low-fat but why?)

So here are the ingredients as follows:

  • 400g of Self-Raising Flour

  • 400g Full-fat Greek Yoghurt (Ok fine, you can opt for low fat but you're missing out on all the fun!)

  • 1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder

  • An additional 25g of Self- Raising flour for dusting

Method

1) In a food processor add the yoghurt, flour and baking powder and process until it comes together as smooth dough.

That’s it…. There is no step 2, it was that easy…

All there is to do next is decide how you wish to use the dough.

For the flat bread pizza I used in my picture, the toppings I used were:

  • Sliced Red Bell Peppers

  • Fresh Green Chilli’s

  • Sliced Red Onions

  • Sliced Mushrooms

  • Dried Oregano

  • Mozzarella Cheese

Note: I sautéed the peppers, green chillies, onions and mushrooms in a pan with a little olive oil first and then topped my pizza with this mixture, cheese and some fresh oregano.

Bake this at 200 Degrees Celsius for around 15-20 mins on a greased baking tray and enjoy.
